Generative Ai for Librarians

to improve efficiency, increase networking capabilities and lighten workload for librarians
Course objectives
The main objective of this course is to raise awareness of the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence in relation to the library and teaching profession. Freely usable solutions and applications will be elaborated, freely available for librarians and the general public, interested in accessing scientific publications, open data, certified statistics and teaching.

Educational objectives
KnowledgeFreely usable solutions and applications in technology will be given and practiced. The course is directed towards librarians who are interested in accessing and sharing scientific publications, open data, certified statistics. Furthermore, opportunities to demonstrate understanding and competence of using Ai for teaching and learning.
Abilities taughtVarious Ai LLM will be introduced for research purposes and instruction sets.

During the course, participants will:

  • increase their understanding and awareness of Ai tools.
  • assess their digital competences and capabilities.
  • learn about different Ai tools available on the market to increase their productivity and lessen their workload.
  • learn about organisation and management tools.

After the course, participants will be able to:

  • conduct adequate research using Ai
  • give meaningful and effective presentations
  • conduct interactive presentation
  • effectively gather, store and share data
  • implement gamification
  • understand up-to-date organisation methods and data sharing
Learning assessment

The course will be considered successfully passed if the participants:

  1. have participated in at least 80% of the course.
  2. have carried out ALL their assignments.
  3. have correctly answered at least 60% of the quizzes.
  4. Testing and Assignments – Every lesson has a follow-up, practical element which the participants need to complete.

At the end of the course, a general quiz will be given.
